Goal Achievement - 4 Tips For Moving Forward
By:Anthony D Carter

Goal achievement requires forward momentum. Moving forward is critical to you reaching your goal. You cannot allow yourself to get stuck along the way. Even though we are all different, there are some common ways things that we can all do to stay on the right path as we move forward. Here are four methods that you can use to stay motivated and on track until you actually hit your goal.

Journal- Keep a journal so you can keep track of what you've accomplished every day. Without a written account of your accomplishments you can get discouraged. It is easy to minimize your successes and amplify your failures. When you have no record of your accomplishments it is easy to forget them.

Journal entries will give you snapshots of your days. You can go back and examine the events which happened that day. You can easily recall what you did right and what you did wrong. Then you can make adjustments without the emotional attachment. You will see a mistake as a failure and an achievement as a success. This way you can make future decisions based on logic rather than emotional whims.

Guard your Associations- Surround yourself with like-minded people who are also interested in achieving a common goal. The people you associate with have a great bearing on your success or failure. Share your goals with positive people. And keep them updated with your progress.

On the other hand, do not share your ambitions with negative people. They will usually try to talk you out of your dream. They find it hard to encourage you because in their minds your success makes them look bad.

Cultivate A Positive Expectancy- Remove negativity from your life by choosing to focus on what you desire to accomplish. Put up pictures of places that you would like to visit. Place photos of your dreams throughout your house, especially on your refrigerator door.

You want to have images around you which keep your mind focused on where you are going. The more visual representations of your dream that you can see on a regular basis the better.

Do The Work- Stay busy, instead of allowing yourself to just sit around worrying and fretting over circumstances which you cannot control. The two things that you have complete control over are your work ethic and your attitude. If you maintain a positive mental attitude and a consistent work ethic then you will eventually accomplish your goal. So spend the majority of your time working on these two areas of your life.
