Goal Achievement - 3 Tips for Goal Setting Success
By:Anthony D Carter

If you read a few books of goal setting, you can come up with the most useful ways to go forward. For sure, just thinking about something and hoping it will come about, will definitely not get the job done. You have to actually do something to reach that goal. Here are 4 ways tips for succeeding with your goal setting process.

Get Mentors

Having a mentor, or someone who has done or achieved something similar to what you want, would be a helpful first step. Lacking that, attending seminars and meetings to teach you could be an alternative, although most likely a pricey one.

Reading personal development books and listening to motivational CD's help you to change your mindset over time. You can totally change your mental attitude from a failing one to a success oriented one in a matter of months. The speakers and authors that you study can become your mentors even if you never meet them in purpose. You can take their advice at your leisure. One of the best ways to learn is to listen to audio programs while driving around in your car. Turn off your radio and listen to motivational messages.

Avoid Overwhelm

Becoming overwhelmed could be the result of trying to do too much too soon. There are so many areas of life in which one can set goals that if you attempt to do too many simultaneously, all may well suffer defeat. Making and accomplishing steps towards a goal is like eating an elephant. Do it a little at a time until you get it done.

Write Goals Down

The brain functions on two levels, conscious and sub-conscious. It only knows for fact what you tell it, so writing down your goals is very important as is looking at them every day. Your sub-conscious brain can mull this over and help to present solutions for getting to where you want to get, in the best way possible.

You will find yourself suddenly aware of opportunities and options that you may have previously overlooked. Your attention will become more alert to ways of moving you forward.

Setting goals is necessary to accomplishing anything worth while in life. Setting these goals high enough to be reachable but at the level that is actually attainable, is crucial. Goals worth having are worth working hard for. So remain persistent until the results of your work start to kick in.
