Change Your Life - Don't Let the Negativity of Others Drag You Down
By:Donna Graham

When you are working hard to achieve your goals and change your life, it is often hard to control your emotions during difficult times. Life is full of emotional distractions, especially when there is a negative person involved.

It is unfortunate that most people are probably innovative enough to positively change their life, but what holds them back is their emotions. They allow their emotions to control their life, to the point of not being able to concentrate on their life.

Falling prey to this type of trap can happen so easily. When you are a sensitive person, taming your emotions can cause you to become crazy at times, especially if you are stuck at a job or a lifestyle that you hate.

When you are diligently working on changing your life, and you encounter negative people, it is important to not let these people affect your emotions to the extent of affecting how you accomplish your goals.

When you are around negative people, you must concentrate to get your mind back into a motivational and positive state. You must remember that these negative people are not happy and have nothing better to do with their lives than make everyone else just as miserable as they are.

Allowing negative emotions into your mind only puts you in a bad mood, makes you tired, and does not allow you focus 100% on your goals. You will never be able to change your life if you allow negative emotions to take over your mind and distract you.

So how do you not feel negative emotions when someone deliberately throws dirt at you? The answer is to consider the source. When anyone treats you badly, there is no reason for you to justify, blame, or rationalize what happen.

If you try to justify, blame, or rationalize what they said or did, you will enter the negative thoughts of anger in your head. You will then spend hours thinking of all the reasons why that person is a jerk, why they are always unfair to people, or why they target you.

Who cares? The person is a jerk, you know it, it's a fact, now move on.

When someone throws dirt at you, it is important that you calm down as soon as possible. Ask yourself what you prefer to do about the situation; spend hours justifying, blaming, or rationalizing why that person did what they did, or spend hours working on your goals to make your life be what you want it to be?

You cannot focus 100% on completing your tasks if you negative mind is angry and thinking about some jerk. You will never achieve your goals if you allow these types of negative people to invade your thoughts for hours or days at a time.

After you have calmed down, pick up your goals list and read it a few times. Then close your eyes and envision yourself after you have completed your goals. Think about how great your life will be.

Think about how happy you are when you are working on your goals, then go and work on them. If you are still angry or upset, take a walk or a nice long bath. Do whatever it takes to get your mind off the situation and back on your road to success.

Remember, the next time you are in a situation with a negative person, to always stay focused on your road to success.
