10 Self-Esteem Boosts
By:Liv Miyagawa

Self-esteem boosts can be anything that makes you feel good about yourself. What makes you feel good about yourself varies from person to person. Here is a list of ten suggestions that you can do to celebrate who you are and to make yourself feel like a great person.

1.Pamper yourself. Boost your self-esteem by getting a massage. If money is not an issue for you, go to a professional. Otherwise you can ask a close friend or even massage yourself. Even if you go for the cheap options you will still show yourself that you are important, and you will give your body the attention and love that it deserves.

2.Eat vitamins. We all know that vitamins are important for our health. Health is also important for your self-esteem. How about turning your vitamins into a delicious smoothie? In this way you will get the vitamins that will help you to boost your health AND you will give yourself a luxurious present to show yourself that you are great. A twofold self-esteem boost!

3.Buy new clothes. If you are already a shopaholic this wouldn't help you to boost your self-esteem. However, if you have not bought any new clothes for a while, getting some new outfits that you feel really great in could be a brilliant self-esteem boost. By feeling like you look great you will also start to feel like you are great.

4.Dance. Don't try to boost your self-esteem with dancing if you hate dancing! However, if you like moving your body to music you can use this as a way of boosting your self-esteem. You can dance with friends or at home on your own. Dancing helps you to develop a better relationship to your own body. It is also fun and good for your health!

5.Give yourself compliments. If you want compliments you don't have to wait for others to tell you the words that you want to hear. Boost your self-esteem by giving yourself a tap on the back every time you succeed in doing something that you wanted to do. Say to yourself "Well done for cooking such a healthy and delicious meal" or "Well done for writing such a good report"!

6.Take a vacation. Take a break from everything. Go somewhere else to change your environment. Take some time out to appreciate your life and think about who you want to be.

7.Do something that you always wanted to do but never did. If you still have some hidden unrealised dreams, give them some fresh air and go out and make them into reality. Maybe you have dreamed of visiting a certain place or maybe you have always wanted to try a specific sport. It creates a great feeling of independence, power and competence when you take action to realise your dreams.

8.Give or create a present for your friend. You can boost your self-esteem by making others happy because this makes you feel like you are a good person. When you give others presents and attention you will also boost their self-esteem because they will think that they must be good people when you value them enough give them gifts.

9.Read an inspiring book. Inspiring books can help you to boost your self-esteem by inspiring you to become the person that you want to be. When you are the person that you were destined to become your self-esteem will be high. Good books can keep you on track towards developing into that person.

10.Work for a greater cause. Volunteering to work for a cause that you believe strongly in will make you feel useful. By doing good you will feel good. Imagine what a wonderful world we would have if everyone did this in order to boost their self-esteems!
