Motivation Tips

Those who really need to raise their self-esteem are the least likely to do it
By:Liv Miyagawa

Unfortunately, those people who really are in the need of raising their self-esteem, those with extremely low self-esteem, are generally less likely compared to those with high self-esteem to actively do something to raise their self-esteem. Those who need self-esteem the most are the least likely to seek it.

In all of the self-esteem courses that I have led, the majority of the participants have been men and women with a relatively high self-esteem and good self-awareness. This is no coincidence. To have a high self-esteem you need to regularly engage in activities that raise your self-esteem. Self-esteem doesn't appear out of nothing. Most of the
people who attend my self-esteem courses, read The Self-Esteem Toolbox, or contact me for personal coaching are already interested in developing themselves and in optimising their well-being. As a result they are used to doing things that increase their well-being. All activities that help you feel better, physically and mentally, are also good for your self-esteem. Whenever you do something good for yourself you will tell your brain that you are important and worthy of being taken care of, and as a result you will raise you self-esteem.

People who are not interested in their personal development donft seek out self-developing activities and are therefore not used to doing things that improve their self-esteem. As a result their self-esteem is generally lower. With a low self-esteem their lives are affected negatively in all different directions. Fewer friends, short-lasting and less satisfying relationships, worse physical health, depression, anxiety, stress etc. With all these negative outcomes in their lives, they are the ones that need to raise their self-esteem the most. Unfortunately, they are often not motivated to seek a self-esteem coach, read self-esteem books or attend self-esteem courses. Not until things get really bad will they start to look for help.

Rather than waiting until things get worse, it is better to start to look for ways to raise your self-esteem immediately. Even if you think that your self-esteem is just about average it is better to improve it now rather than wait for it to sink even lower.

Liv Miyagawa, The Self-Esteem Coach, helps people all over the world to raise their self-esteem and to reach their personal goals. She opens people's eyes to their own strengths and helps them to figure out what it really is that they want to get out of life. Liv helps people to find out exactly what steps they need to take to reach their goals, and she supports them and motivates them on their journey towards a more fulfilling future.
