Motivation Tips

How to cope with change
By:Lizette Balsdon

While some people accept change in life, others fear it. However, by following the tips below someone can deal with change and you might just enjoy it. Before you know it, you may be looking for ways in which to evolve all the different areas of your life. The rewards mean more freedom and excitement.

1. A new perception towards the inevitable can help. One should view it as a challenge, rather than a problem. When looking at something as a problem, we tend to make it seem bigger in our heads than what it really is. This in turn creates a more fearsome perception of the situation. Fear is not a good place from which to operate, as one is unable to think clearly when in a mode of fear or stress.

We have all heard the phrase “Change is as good as a holiday". Instead of stressing about what might happen, visualize the positive aspects of the new challenge.

2. Life is ever evolving. Enjoy the changes and y the changes and embrace more flexibility. It is okay to stick to routines and habits, but life should never be too rigid to allow change. When routine is interfering with the way you live, you know that it is time for a change.

3. Prepare for change by making small changes ever so often. This will help you reduce the fear of the unknown. Here are some simple strategies:

Change your hairstyle every 6 months

Adopt a new color-scheme in your home

Buy a new outfit that is different from your usual clothes.

Do something spontaneous once a month

4. Take one day at the time. Yesterday is in the past, and you will not experience it again. Tomorrow you may not be here, so just make the best of the present is all that counts. Miracles happen daily, so a person may be wasting their time fearing about the things that may happen in the future when those things may never happen. People have a tendency to worry about the monsters under the bed, while we know monsters do not exist.

Relax, live a little and see how much better life treats you.
