Motivation Tips

12 Weight Loss Motivation Tips
By:Karl Warren

The only way that you will ever lose weight is if you’re motivated to do so. The motivation can come from anywhere: to get into that new dress for your special event (party, ceremony, date), to look better in your two piece bathing suit at the beach, or even to have better sex. Whatever your reason may be for losing weight, if you aren’t motivated to lose it, you never will.

I want to get you motivated and, more importantly, keep you motivated to lose weight, so I’ve made a list of weight loss motivation tips for you to read and take to heart. Print it up; post it on your fridge, whatever. Keep the list somewhere that you can see it and keep yourself motivated.

Ready? Here we go!

Tip #1 – Keep your desire high! As with anything in life, you have got to want it. Surround yourself with people that want it, too, either for you or for themselves.

Tip #2 – Keep it real! You’re not going to lose 20 pounds in 2 days, so don’t even try to do that. You could possibly do that, but I can’t imagine the horrible health consequences of doing it.

Tip #3 – Catalog your progress! Take pictures everyday or every other day to see the subtle differences that are happening right before your eyes. This will definitely fuel the fire to lose more weight!

Tip #4 – Make yourself accountable! Put yourself out there in the public eye, whether it’s at work or church or even your card game group. Tell them what you are doing and they’ll hold you to it!

Tip #5 – Pump up the volume! Listen to music that makes you want to move or that simply inspires you. It’ll make you feel great and help you to stay focused.

Tip #6 – Own your mistakes! You know what you have been doing to get to this point. Admit that what you’ve been doing isn’t working and make the changes that you need to make to lose weight.

Tip #7 – Stop when it’s time to stop! Don’t keep eating after you feel full. Your body will tell you when to quit, so listen to your body and it will help you reach your goals naturally.

Tip #8 – Don’t look back! If you’ve lost weight and some of your clothes are too baggy for you to wear, get rid of them, and replace them with new clothes that fit you and show off your body! This will motivate you to keep losing and keep shedding those unwanted pounds.

Tip #9 – Do it for you! You have to understand the benefits of losing weight for yourself. Friends and family can encourage you all they want, but, ultimately, it comes down to you understanding the benefits and wanting them.

Tip #10 – Be a sidekick! Find someone who has done what you’re trying to do and model yourself after their weight loss success. You’ll find that with the right role model, weight loss becomes a lot easier and consistent.

Tip #11 – Screw the scale! Don’t fall into the self-destructive trap of weighing yourself every day. Most of the time, this discourages motivated people and frustrates them. Choose one day each week to weight yourself and stick to it.

Tip #12 – Enjoy the pot at the end of the rainbow! Never forget to reward yourself for your efforts, whether it’s with clothes, gadgets, or even your favorite dessert. This is a great motivator because it gives you something to look forward to receiving for all of your hard work!
