How can you write a resume that works? With today's economy, it is a challenge to be called for an interview. It is not just your work experience and education credentials that help you to be selected. You may send hundreds of resume copies to prospective employers but not receive any replies. You may also try uploading it on recruitment websites but never receive a hit on searches. You may be wondering if your experience is not good enough, or if you just do not know how to write a resume.

So how can you write a resume that gets the recruitment team to read it? Human resources (HR) personnel receive hundreds of applications and only have a few seconds to consider your resume as potentially being worth their time. You may be the best qualified person for the job, but others get the chance to be interviewed because your resume failed to stand out among the pile. Your resume should be aesthetically pleasing to the eye, interesting, and easy to read. This means maintaining a professional look on your resume and avoiding lengthy discussion of your achievements. Having a qualification summary also helps to get the HR personnel to consider your application. Your resume's purpose is to get you a call for an interview, but many do not even get past that first goal.
