Their main reason was that 5-year rule policy in Ningbo that expatriates who have worked in China for more than 5 years could no longer get a residence working visa. It was like, oh, are you kidding me?

Typical Chinese. Use then lose. China as a country would like to such every last bit of knowledge dry from any educated expat and then kick them to the curb. This kind of behavior isn't just recent either, been going on for like forever.

About that 5-year rule, she was really insisting that it was the main reason why they can't extend my visa but there was also another Science teacher from U.S. who has been working in China for more than 5 years but they were able to get him a visa. It only means a thing, pure discrimination not only in the school but also in the foreign expert bureau. I am not a newbie in China just to believe in every thing that she says to me.

She would say whatever the hell she wants to get you out of there. I would abuse her as well by posting things about her n the internet, but hey this is what you are doing now so that is good. I myself had considered this school a while back, but now thanks to you I will stay clear.

Adding more, she was planning to convert my residence working visa to L-visa but I declined. I told her that I'd rather go home. She just wanted to use me for her summer classes. To make it short, I'm left China last July 2 same as the expiration of my visa. My experience in Ningbo was very devastating on my part, my teaching career and the future of my family.

For her to do something illegal like this shows she doesn't respect you as a human being [edited]. From my experience people who like staying in China in the same place for a very, very long time and who work in the ESL industry are usually some of the biggest losers that western society has to offer and are absolutely morally corrupt beyond help. But hey birds of a feather flock together.

Hope you'll find a better place in the future. Btw the Shaoxing Textile School is that run by a "John" character? How was that exprience? Email me if you can, thank you!
