In response to BUCKLAND INSTITUTE (Threads by many posters, moved from the "Travel in China" board on July 23 2012)

I don t know what this all fuss is about. I met Owen in Yangshuo where I had my orientation week as planned.
It was a good week. Than I was sent to a school in Jingbian, it s a relatively small town in Northern Shaanxi.
They got me a plane ticket even though I would have been happy to travel by train and it would have cost them
A lot less. I was given an apartment, fair enough it was a bit rudimental but everyone was so amazingly nice
To me. I m not very much of a spoiled Westerner so I wouldn t really consider a basic flat a major issue.
I did 3 term in Jingbian, had to renew my visa in Xian twice and in Hong Kong once. They paid for everything,
Including a single room in both places which I did not want. I m perfectly fine sharing a dorm in a hostel. Frank,
An area manager I think, met me in Xian a few times, took me and other foreign teachers out for dinner and

To answer any questions about my experience with Owen Buckland. He runs a business of course, he makes some
Money, sure he does, no one ever stated Buckland was a charity. I m currently working for another language
School, in Italy, my boss makes a profit and I can t see what s so unfair about it. All things I was promised when
I signed my contract with Buckland were delivered and China has been a life changing experience for me.
