We hear a lot about techniques on how to write articles, but things which should be avoided during content writing are rarely discussed. Writing short articles is no Rocket-science, just be yourself.

Biggest mistakes which online writers do:

1. Using complex terms and language:
A successful article should be well understood by common people. Using terms which may be hard for a common person to understand is one of the biggest mistakes one can do. Additionally using words whose meaning is not commonly understood by general audience will not raise your stature in any way, instead people will move on to read some other article.

2. Writing articles purely for Search engines:
There are several SEO (search engine optimization) techniques out there. It includes how to select a title, taking care of keywords density and more. Although several techniques are already a part of good article writing but following those strict guidelines may make your article less interesting. These days search engines have become very intelligent, and they penalize content which is written purely with SEO techniques.

3. Going too much off the topic:
I have seen so many articles on the internet where the subject of an article is quite different from the core body. Author drifts from the core topic so much that the article leaves users in a confusion.

4. Writing the whole article in just one or two paragraphs:
It is important to use headings, numbers or bullets or may be ever short sentences. This will also help readers to focus only on those sections which they want to read and not be forced to read the entire article.

5. Forcing yourself to write:
I can write an article in 15 minutes and there are times I can take 1 hour to write the same article. Pushing yourself to write will make you write boring content and spending too much time. When you are in the mood to write, words simply from out.

6. Spelling and grammatical mistakes:
Take a while to read your article again, you will likely find lot of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors.
