5 Tips For Lightning Fast Article Writing
By:Sean Platt

Professional writers, by the nature of their trade, must write each and every day. If you're a freelance writer whose primary income stream comes down from the river of writing SEO web copy, then writing articles on a myriad of topics is just another part of your day. If you aren't spending the day writing something specifically for a client, then chances are good that you're attempting to stockpile posts so you'll have something to reach for in those moments when time is short and you're feeling harried.

The key to article writing success is in keeping your brain busy enough so that it is never at a loss for something to say. Here are a 5 quick tips that always work for me.

1. Check out the current news. What's being passed in the day's circulation? When sifting through the day's headlines, you're near certain to find full load of succinct content. This can be a big benefit to quickly developing relevant topics to write about.

2. Hit your RSS feed. If a writer has earned a coveted spot in your reader, it's probably because you appreciate the way they put their thoughts together. You don't have to write on the same topic to pull value. It is reading the words of someone you respect that will likely lead your mind to fresh thought. Whenever I find myself in need of new ideas, I simply head to my favorite online writers in search of inspiration. It is in another garden where you might blossom blooms of your own.

3. Filter your inbox. If I find myself in between articles and feel like my well of ideas is running a bit dry, I always think it's a good idea to sort through my inbox and answer a few emails before I return to writing. No different than a fresh glass of water or a walk to the park and back, I return to the desk a new man with new ideas.

4. Read something you've written before. Reading something you've already written can give you a direct link to a new idea. Old thoughts discovered again can be easily seen from a different view. You are a different person than you were the day you originally wrote those words. Write them again, add a new twist, or simply update the page for a different audience.

5. Read some inspiring quotes. This tactic has never failed me. Even if I don't have time for any of the other tips, this one is guaranteed to get my mind going. It's really the same tip as all the others - you must use the thoughts of another to stoke what's already inside you, but there's something about the quote that seem to distill the best ideas into a single shot of inspiration.

Writing can be easy enough, just make sure you're the boss of your ideas. Pull one of these tips and write an article in no time at all!
