Those stricken apartments must stink to high heaven! (The OP had mentioned problems with his WC.) What you say about punishment for underperforming FTs may or may not be true. However, the English translation of the German of the initial post of this thread seems to imply it.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that is always the case in teaching EFL abroad. However, what I would say from my experience of teaching in China is that it's generally better to stick to the public education sector.
