It's such a shame to see a review get slated due to spelling mistake. After all, lets not pretend that ESL is usually taught by fantastic well qualified teachers.

I also work at this school and don't feel that the review went far enough.

2 weeks ago an ESL teacher committed suicide due to bullying from the management. He was harassed whilst teaching, during his breaks and even on the way back to his apartment. The school however has kept it totally secret even though the family wished the teachers to know.

This bullying is endemic, professional teachers get harassed but ESL teachers get bullied, fined and then fired. I am writing this so that any body starting in September knows what to expect and maybe takes advantage of the flood of new jobs on www.tes.com/jobs or TIE rather than putting their own sanity at risk.

There is a great division between Chinese and Western teachers, this goes beyond salary and is primarily created by Hannah (the principal). The Chinese teachers are to report anything suspicious they hear directly to management.

Management are all yes people hired purely for their ability to agree with Hannah. Tracy is good but heavily over worked. She is currently doing 3 jobs at once.

Staff are paid cash in hand and no pay statements are given. The salary is tax free but you will be told that the school pays the tax on your behalf... evidence?

Integrity is severely lacking, Most of the teachers are professional teachers and the lack of honesty and integrity in the school has meant that all but 2 or 3 professional teachers will leave this year. This will allow Hannah to fully implement her regime of cheating, lying and using the foreign teachers as lumps of flesh to stand in front of Chinese students who think that they will walk into a university and then become rich like their families.
